In Country books are #webbooks, meaning they are designed to be read free online. For best viewing, click on one, then hit the slideshow button at the top right of the page.
The first two In Country books, Man Made and Crops, are drawn from single, 9 x 12 inch editions, meant to resemble old fashioned travel sketch books. Photographs were printed on Canson inkjet-treated watercolor paper then pasted into an album. After creating a bookish web template to present them online, I succumbed to temptation. Volumes 3-5 (Groves, Hay, and The Sacred Path) are wholly digital.
The photographs were shot almost entirely from the passenger seat of moving cars (sometimes rather swiftly moving cars) during the course of annual road trips beginning in 2013. The indefatigable driver was my partner and beloved fellow traveler, Richard Matthews. Most photos were taken in the western part of the US. Look for In Country #webbooks on Trains, Streams, and Mountains sometime in the future.
Our Part of Town and Le Repas are in print but not for sale. They too can be read here as Last Seacoast #webbooks.
