Finding herself alone on the road with only dim memories of a safe home somewhere in the past, Wanderer sets out to see where she is.
In the first of these two books of her wordless adventures the heroine, who some have referred to as a five-inch doll, follows a river to the sea (she's never seen it!) enters a small door to a subterranean world, encounters various weathers, and finds the gate to the city.
In the second volume, Wanderer explores the city and its surrounding countryside. Oh, here's the sea again. After meeting a wise woman she heads to the hills where she discovers enlightenment. But the road keeps going and so does she.
